CIAS Featured Studebakers!
The following pictures and fact sheets (Provided by Keith Barrett) show the Studebaker cars that will actually be at the 2007 Canadian International AutoShow this year. The National Studebaker Museum is sending up some of its most historic cars from South Bend Indiana. Along with those cars will be member cars from Canadian Chapters, primarily Ontario SDC and Hamilton SDC cars.
With permission of Charles W. Moore, the original author of "Steve Jobs May Be The Raymond Loewy Of Computer Design, But that Doesn't Make Apple The Studebaker Of PC Makers", that we reproduce his article on the Ontario SDC website. Although the article focuses the discussion on the design of Apple computers, it still proves to be interesting read for Studebaker owners. Please click on to read his article!
New Club Event in Kitchener
There will be a new event in February for club members. It will be brunch at Pioneer Bar-B-Q on February 11, 2007. The restaurant is located in Kitchener, just north of the 401. A meeting time will be posted in the next while and will also be in your next Studebanner.
2006 Ontario SDC AGM
Another year has come and gone and it was time to head down the 401 to hold our AGM. This year it was decided to hold it the other side of Toronto due to the request of many Chapter members. The new Dutch Oven in Orono is a well-known restaurant which has an excellent buffet on Sundays and many had a good lunch before the meeting began. The weather was miserable all day and at 1:30 pm and with 20 members in attendance I began the meeting.
I will only go into the main items of the AGM as the 2007 budget and events calendar was discussed for the new Committee to make the final decision on next year’s activities and what to spend your dues on. The confirmed 2007 budget and Calendar of events will be in Jan-Feb edition of the Studebanner along with the minutes of the meeting. In addition, the option of having a 2 year committee was discussed and it was voted on and passed that the new committee would serve for a period of 2 years to continue to bring continuity to the chapter
