Another year has come and gone and it was time to head down the 401 to hold our AGM. This year it was decided to hold it the other side of Toronto due to the request of many Chapter members. The new Dutch Oven in Orono is a well-known restaurant which has an excellent buffet on Sundays and many had a good lunch before the meeting began. The weather was miserable all day and at 1:30 pm and with 20 members in attendance I began the meeting.
I will only go into the main items of the AGM as the 2007 budget and events calendar was discussed for the new Committee to make the final decision on next year’s activities and what to spend your dues on. The confirmed 2007 budget and Calendar of events will be in Jan-Feb edition of the Studebanner along with the minutes of the meeting. In addition, the option of having a 2 year committee was discussed and it was voted on and passed that the new committee would serve for a period of 2 years to continue to bring continuity to the chapter
This year’s chapter awards (plaques) were presented to the following members:
Judy Muldoon for her 3+ years as a awarding winning Studebanner Editor.
The Lloyd Crowdis award was presented to Al & Wilma Jordan for
their contributions to the Studebanner. The 2006 Most valuable
member(s) award was presented to Keith and Jane Barrett for their
support in organizing the 2006 CIAS Studebaker display and their
continued efforts as our Chapter reps in coordinating the 2007
Studebaker Display for the 2007 CIAS. It will be the premier event for
the 2007 season and it will be in great part to Jan and Keith’s efforts
that Studebaker will be front and centre during the show.
Unfortunately Richard Griggs was unable to attend this meeting due to
weather and other commitments but Paul Revell on behalf of the Chapter
members, will present him with a plaque to thank him for his 20+ years
as a Chapter member.

Judy Muldoon Receiving an Award.

Keith & Jane Barret Receiving MVP Award 2006
The main purpose of this AGM was to elect a new Committee for the
2007 & 2008 years. I had received no nominations in the past couple
of months which is somewhat disconcerting since chapters such as ours
don’t run by themselves and if we hope to maintain viable committee we
need some members to step forward to do handle the Chapter affairs in a
quick and business like manner. I am happy to report that we did have
members coming forward to fill the vacant positions and for the most
part we are ready and able to run in a very professional manner. The
2007/2008 Board of Officers is as follows:
President - Will Norton – Acclaimed
Vice President - Judy Muldoon – NEW - Acclaimed
Treasurer, Membership Coordinator - Bob Easton – NEW - Acclaimed
Recording Secretary = Paul Revell - Acclaimed
Webmaster – Eric Norton NEW Acclaimed
Studebanner Editor - Peter Graziano – Appointed since July 2006
Tourmasters:
- Muskoka/Haliburton - Verne Brinsmead
- Eastern Ontario – Bill Foy
- Toronto West – Paul Revell
- Niagara – Bob Easton
Thanks to the above members for stepping forward to serve on the
2007& 2008 Board of Officers. We still have some vacancies such as
the Historian position and we need Tourmasters in other regions of
Ontario such as the Central and Southwestern regions. If anyone of you
are interested please e-mail or phone me so we can start to organize
events in those parts of the province.
The meeting was adjourned around 4 PM and the rain was still going
strong when we left. The concensus of the members in attendance
indicated that they would like an earlier AGM so the weather would be
better and more Studebakers would be in the Parking lot. The next AGM
will be on 30th of September at the end of the next Maple Leaf tour in
a location TBC. The Bonfire restaurant in Lindsay was suggested but if
you are aware of a good restaurant that has a great buffet and is able
to give us an area that meetings can be held for a reasonable price
(Free) then let me know. Thanks again for the members that showed up
to help us confirm and vote on the new Committee. Hope to see you at
the 2007 AGM in your Studebaker!
