Mr. Lou Saunders

Lou Saunders worked in the Hamilton factory office from Sept 1962 until spring of 1966. His initial job was to type up,

copy and deliver about 50 sheets of build specifications to the work stations in the factory. The plant was building 6 units an hour

and I had to get the details out every hour.  His next and final job was to help and plan rail shipments for our vehicles as well

as a few Mercedes across Canada. Initially the plant used 40 foot box cars (Evans) which held 4 units, then 60 foot cars that held 6 cars.

Eventually the plant went to 2 shifts (96 cars a day) and were using tri-level units which are still currently in use. He retired from Ford

Truck plant in Oakville in 1992 at the age of 55 where he was a production engineer. Lou and his wife, Pat, traveled  after his retirement

and did a year long trip to Bahamas while also sailing to Cuba in 1999 , They have 3 sons and 5 Grandchildren while presently living

in their hometown of Ancaster, Ontario.
