Mr Rolly Larmour

It all begun back in 1955 when a 16 yr old Rolly noticed a 1949 Studebaker Commander Convertible on the lot of Lewis motors in Ottawa, Ontario.

He fell in love with this beauty and so he decided to quit school and started to work for $37.50 a week pumping gas to be able to own his first car.

His Dad was in favour of him buying the Studebaker as he thought their were enough idiots driving a Chevy or Ford on the road and all they wanted to

do was lay rubber. In his Dad's mind Studebakers were a well-build and reliable car that weren't as fast so he thought it was a sensible choice.

Little did his Dad know that he soon though of various ways to get the most out of his 245 cu in motor by splitting the manifold, adding dual carbs and

planing the head to make it one quick little ride that surprised alot of the local Hot Rod Guys. In 1958 Rolly began his career as a Automotive Mechanic

by working as an apprentice at the local Studebaker Dealer, Leland Love Motors located on Richmond Rd in Ottawa, Ontario. He cut his teeth on Studebakers

in his early years which led to a lifelong career in automotive maintenance in the Ottawa region. Over the last 59+ years he has owned a total of 28 Studebakers

to include many Commanders, a Golden Hawk, Silver Hawk and 6 x GT Hawks to name afew. He currently owns a 1964 Daytona Convertible.

Rolly is fully retired now and still does all of the maintenance on his Studebakers (except Body & Paint). He is a active member of the Ontario Chapter of the SDC

and takes great joy in all things Studebaker. For his many contributions to the Canadian Studebaker scene for the past near 6 decades he was honoured in 2014

by being added to the Studebaker Made in Canada Plaque located at the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana

Rolly being honoured at our annual Xmas Luncheon in 2014
